education

Should children be required to attend school through twelfthgrade or not. i believe they should because, if we do not teach our children then, not to be to harsh but, ignorance will inherit the earth. the reason we teach children in schools and private schools is for them to make a better life for themselves. it is also to make sure when these children leave school they have the skills to survive and flourish. and we don’t want some one who didn’t complete middle school running the country or performing open heart surgery. another reason that we require our children to learn is to help those who can not help themselves. such as doctors, thesepeople are trusted in around the world and this is why the highest level of education is required of them. i saw a billboard not to long ago that said “knowledge is power” and if you think about this fact it is true. with out our knowledge we are nothing. knowledge gives us the power to do what ever we want. we live in a country that has no limits on what we do, except one. this one contrary fact is the amount of knowledge a person  has or the lack there of.

discription

1. my favorite color is black. three of my favorite colors are brick red, navy blue, and forest green.

2. i would describe navy blue to some one as being darker than the oceans color but still very attractive.

3. my three favorite smells are fresh cut grass, Christmas wreathes, and the smell of the air on an October night.

4. three smells that i hate are natural gas, the exhaust of a tow motor, and strong perfume.

5. i would describe the smell of an October night as crisp and cool. almost like a cold refreshment that brings back memories.

6. three of my favorite tastes are pizza, the cooling of a piece of winter fresh gum, and the warm almost pleasing burn of hot chocolate.

7. my three least favorite tastes are the sweaty steam of broccoli, the salty singe of sardines, and the toxic inhalation of cigarette smoke.

8. i would describe the taste of cigarette smoke as a taste that takes the breath away and not in a good way. it is a damp and almost throat strangling taste.

9. my three favorite sounds are the faint sound of a lawn mower on a summer day, my favorite band, and the sound of an orchestra that play as one although they are many.

10. my least favorite sounds are the sound of a crying kid, a bad rap song, and the sound of a car that has the bass turned up to loud.

11. if i were to describe a crying kid i would say it is like a midget with a hammer beating my ear drum.

12. two of my favorite textures are the quenched feeling of a door frame scratching an itchy spot on my back i cant reach, and the soothing cool of a pillow when i lay down to sleep.

13. two of my least favorite textures are the scratchiness of a wool sweater and the feeling of sand between my toes.

14. if i were to describe scratching my back on the door frame is like on a cartoon when the character would catch on fire and then jump in the snow, its sort of that feeling that makes you say ahhhhhhhhh.

censorship

After my group and I asked three people what their opinion on censorship was, we discovered the answers varied. When we asked a woman if she felt it was up to censors on TV or the parent’s responsibility to keep harmful material away from children? She answered, “well I think it is a little of both, you can’t be around your children all the time and when you’re not you need the censors to pick up the slack”. Another woman we asked do you think that censoring things benefits or hurts society as a whole. Without hesitation she said “I don’t think its benefits us…..if you don’t want to watch something don’t watch it. Change the station or the channel, no one is forcing you to watch it.” She then turned back to the book she had been reading before we interrupted her. Finally we asked a young man if he felt that censoring compact disks hurt of benefit music artists. He said “I think it hurts their sales because their choice of language and mannerisms is their right to free speech. To take this away from them would be limiting them on the way they express themselves.” As we collected our answers we headed back to the classroom and I though about what they said and they were all right in a way. So in conclusion I believe that censorship is a combination of all three of these answers.
